Episode Description
Emotions are the missing piece of an ADHD diagnosis — they are not explicitly included in the DSM-V diagnostic criteria. Yet, emotions — both positive and negative — play a critical role in prioritizing and getting started on tasks, sustaining interest/effort, holding thoughts in active memory, and choosing to engage in or avoid tasks. In other words, they’re at the root of many things teens and adults with ADD struggle with.
In this webinar, you will learn helpful ways to understand the following issues:
- How emotions affect everyday life with ADHD
- How to avoid feeling “flooded” by one emotion
- Strategies for putting the brakes on anger and frustration
