    Meet the expertWilliam Pelham, Jr. Ph.D., director of the Center for Children and Families at Florida International University (FIU), is a distinguished professor of psychology who studies ADHD in children and adolescents. Pelham studies treatment development and evaluation, including behavioral treatments, pharmacotherapy, and the combination of the two. Most recently, the treatment research has focused on dosing and sequencing in behavioral, pharmacological, and combined interventions. His summer treatment program for ADHD children has been recognized by the Society of Clinical and Adolescent Psychology and the Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice of the American Psychological Association (APA), by Children with Attention Deficit Disorder (CHADD) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) as a model program, and is widely recognized as the state of the art in treatment for children and adolescents with ADHD.
