“Borderline Personality Disorder & Its Connection to ADHD” [Video Replay & Podcast #446]

Access the video replay, listen to the podcast episode (#446), download the slide presentation, and learn how to get a certificate of attendance for this ADHD Experts webinar originally broadcast on March 15, 2023.

Episode Description

Borderline personality disorder (BPD) is characterized by emotional dysregulation, an unstable self-image, and interpersonal problems — all symptoms associated with ADHD as well. In fact, studies show that 20 to 40 percent of people with BPD also have ADHD. Because the two disorders share overlapping symptoms, clinicians may misdiagnose one for the other and inadvertently prescribe an ineffective treatment plan.

This webinar will focus on understanding BPD, differentiating the BPD symptoms that mimic ADHD, and understanding ADHD-specific risk factors of developing BPD. Treatment recommendations will also be reviewed.

In this webinar, you will learn:

  • How to identify the symptoms of BPD
  • How to differentiate between BPD and ADHD symptoms
  • How to identify ADHD-specific risk factors for developing BPD
  • About treatment recommendations for comorbid ADHD and BPD
